Wow! Antique Triple Horse Bells With Brass Phoenix For Parade Carriage Sleigh

You don't come across elaborate parade bells like this very often! A two headed phoenix bird or dragon sits atop six clappers that ring the outside of a large brass hallow bell measuring 2.75 across. Beneath that are two large brass bell measuring 2.25 across.

They have a big bold sound and look impressive. This is mounted on a stuffed leather saddle mount. My opinion is that it has a German origin. The condition of the brass is very good, no missing clappers or cracked bells.

It does lean towards one side a bit which may be because of the padding in the saddle mount. The saddle mount itself is in fair but intact shape, pretty good actually for the age. As you can see the bird/dragons have holes at their mouth. Most likely a tassel or horse hair decoration of some sort hung from this.
