Vintage Solid Antique Brass Bell And Handle 8.50 Inches Tall

SOLID ANTIQUE BRASS BELL AND HANDLE 8.50 INCHES TALL. Early 20th Century solid brass bell and handle. The clapper appears to be a steel material. There are (2) two letters that have been carved/etched on top of the bell, "MS".

I believe it could be a makers mark or the initials of a previous owner. The bell is heavy and weighs 2 lbs. I don't believe its a school bell or a dinner table bell (Too heavy) but possibly a town hall crier at a ceremonial congregation. There are some dings and scratched from normal wear, nothing major. 8.50 T (21.59 cm).
