Vintage Brass Door Bell Pub Wall School Ornate. Here is a fabulous old pull chain door bell.
I think it's brass but maybe bronze, I'm afraid I'm no metal expert. Whatever, it's got a lovely ring. The old bell has an inscription around the outside which reads:'AQVILA AGNVS PELICANVS LEO which I think means it's an old sanctuary bell. I don't know if it started life in this form, because the iron/steel bracket looks hand made and I think this type of bell normally has a brass bracket? I must say that I really like the black metal bracket but how old it all is I have no idea?
It has a heavy brass handle at the bottom of the chain and if you lift it two or three inches it will allow the loose chain to give a really nice clang! It has multiple fixing holes to securely fix it to a wall. It would be perfect as a door bell, a pub or a school bell, far better than an electric buzzer and it looks great.
Depth out from the wall: 8.5. Be aware that this listing is for the wall bell, pull chain and bracket only and no other items are included in the sale. Please have a good zoom in on the images for full details of style and condition as they are an integral part of the description, and drop me a message if you have any questions.
