It was made by an unknown silversmith. The banded bowl or bell part is decorated with applied bands and a floral frieze, the clanger being formed of a plated nut suspended on a silver wire. It produces a delightfully gentle tinkle!

The handle is formed of a conical copper or brass part to which is attached a brass bracket and a silver stem that ends in a monkey tail. This attractive Mid-Century Modern item remains in very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, and bears tiny engraved script initials LSW to the outside of the bell part. Height: 4 5/8in (14.3cm). Base width: 2 1/8in (5.3cm). Weight (silver and other metals): 2.35 troy oz (73g).
