SNAKE Art NOUVEAU French BEAST Belle Epoque Gold P FLORAL Pendant Necklace Chain
Interesting one of a kind Art Nouveau necklace with large floral reticulated pendant with designs woven in of some sort of snake like creature with tail, face and tongue. It has a beautiful patina of gold plated brass, where it has worn organically to provide a beautiful coloring appropriate to its age. This is a French antique piece from the Belle Epoque period. It comes as pictured on an antique gold filled chain. The back has two areas on the side where it might have been a buckle or some other sort of decorative implement, but it has cutouts on the top which made it work perfectly on the chain. The piece measures about 1 3/4" wide tall by 1 1/2". Chain is about 20 inches long. No hallmarks, as it is gold plated brass. Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned with some age to them so they are in estate condition. Some surface wear, and scratches but no deep pin dings that I could see. Some stubborn tarnish spots on the back. Plenty of years left in this old, very unique piece.
