Northern Joy Vintage Cast Brass Bronze Ships Bell Authentic Nautical Maritime - Large Heavy. Letters / numbers cast in the bell. Northern Joy likely the name. Jul may be the port of registry? My rudimentary knowledge is that S. Classic shape with substantial cannon (hanging point) and two (2) bead lines. No makers mark that I can see.

Can you imagine a better name? My cursory online research has not identified the S. Northern Joy made in 1964. Found a trawler in the UK but that seems like an illfit.

Perfect for the cottage, cabin, marina, beach bar. Not a repro or faux. Northern Joy was a 80710 dwt tanker, built by Kure Zosensho shipyard at Kure, Japan. Launched March 1964, she was completed July 1964.

Propulsion power was by 2 x steam turbines manufactured by Kawasaki Dockyard (hence the SS designation) double reduction geared to the shaft with a speed of 16 knots. Scrapped and broken up at Kaohsiung in 1978. Found with a heavy patina and tar-like substance that partially obliterated the end of the name. I have tried to retain some of the patina. Interior not cleaned in any way. No clapper (or hook for same). Slight bump / bend to the bottom rim. Your choice to clean further or let the patina / tarnish return to where I removed the tar gunk.

In books, silver, ceramics, comic books and so forth. So while I try to describe them in some detail and provide representative photos you will not see them with specific condition grades.

Most of these items are used, vintage, so some wear is to be expected. Again, if I can detect any specific damage or repairs I will note them; my tendency is to emphasize negative condition issues.

See item description for calculating cost. For very small or light-weight items (or very heavy), non-priority may be investigated as alternatives. Most of the time I will?
