Rare Wm Boekel & Co 1904 Copper & Brass Diving Bell Helmet Hand Air Pump

Antique WM Boekel & Co 1904 Brass & Copper Diving Bell Helmet Hand Air Pump, blacksmith , Service station. Large antique manual air pump made by Wm. Boekel and Company of Philadelphia. Research on this Item shows this pump to be an air source or diving but some have told me it is for blacksmith work and others suggest it is for pumping gear oil. Whatever it was used for it is a pump and a very cool object in its own right. Item was patented in 1904. Seems to be made of copper and brass.

The metal has some oxidation and tarnish stains and scratches. The pump is 19 wide at the bottom where you put your feet when pumping.

It is 26 tall when the handle is down. The pumps wooden handle is 15. When pumped I dont feel air coming out of the spout.
