Eb Top-Action-Rotary-Valve (TARV) -string rotary-brass with garland cornet, with mthpce. It does not have maker's marks, but it was undoubtedly made by John F. 10.75 long, bell diam. It's parts and construction are identical to other Stratton cornets-his short model Eb cornet (see catalog pic).
It is in very good condition with the valves and slides all moving freely. Has been restored & lacquered Robb Stewart? And has a small patch on garland. It plays very well and has a nice warm tone to it. Geoff Hardcastle, trumpet player with the Buffalo Philharmonic and Center City Brass Quintet, has played it and thinks it is an outstanding Eb cornet with super fast valves. If you want not only a wonderful example, but a great player to use in reenactment groups, solos, Victorian ensembles, etc. The item "Eb TARV bell front restored Cornet" is in sale since Sunday, October 28, 2018.
