Chelsea Mariner Ship Wheel Bell Clock 6 Dial with Masonic Presentation Ca 1928
This is a large clock measuring approximately 17 1/2" high x 14" wide x 5 1/2 deep at the base, and it weighs over 25 lbs. One of the finest nautically inspired clocks ever made in this country. The Mariner was first patented, and produced by Chelsea Clock in 1911.

The entire clock, and mahogany wood base have been beautifully restored. The movement has been completely overhauled by a Chelsea Clock expert with over 35 years experience servicing, and repairing Chelsea Clocks. The metal base and case are forged from solid brass.

The forged brass bezel opens with the original "shield" hinge, and latch design. The entire clock has a rich oil rubbed bronzed finish preserved with a clear lacquer coating. The 6 inch Grand Dial has applied raised bronze numbers, and filigree hands. The serial number on the clock movement is 187667, and matches the serial number stamped on the bottom of the wood base.

The wood base and back are made of solid mahogany. Clock has a Masonic presentation made of silver on the front of the clock which has been polished, and clear coated to prevent it from tarnishing. The clock was presented to a gentleman named Isadore Sabel by the members of the William B. Hackenburg Lodge 703, Dec 27, 1928. Sabel must have been a very important Free Mason to have been presented such an expensive clock.
