6 inch silvered lead/brass dial in excellent condition with moon hands. 8 day spring driven lever brass movement serial #86134. Housed in a red brass case. Two interesting notes about his clock.

1 jewels instead of the 7 jewels this model typically has. Back in the day you had to pay Chelsea extra for the additional jewels.

Someone wanted a very accurate clock, and that is exactly what this clock is. I ran it for a week, and it lost less then 30 seconds. The movement was recently overhauled to ensure it will run for years to come. The red brass is correct for the period, but there's no serial number at the 12 o'clock position. Where it is typically stamped.

However, there is a number on the bottom at the 6 o'clock position, but it's not in a format I recognize. I showed a photograph of the case to Chelsea Clock, and they said the red brass was correct for the period, but they did not.

Recognize the uncommon format and location. They also said it could be a serial number that Riggs & Bro. The brass case was professionally polished, and clear coated with lacquer. The clock sits on a heavy solid wood base. The stand looks to be custom made, and it's in outstanding condition. This clock runs great, and it would look beautiful on your fireplace mantle.
