Chelsea Antique Ship's Bell Clock Mariner Model 6 Dial Circa 1939

Serial number 254437 on the clock's movement matches the serial number on the wood base. The brass case and spokes have a mirror like shine.

The base and wheel have a beautiful oil rubbed bronze finish in the rare seldom seen lighter shade which gives it more of a bronze look compared to darker shades of this finish. The clock is in very good condition, and it displays beautifully as evident by the posted photographs. The only flaw I can see with the clock are some small flea bites (see photograph 10) in the base casting caused during the manufacturing process, but the oil rubbed bronze finish minimizes their appearance making them difficult to see from many angles. The clock runs as good as it looks.

The clock has been running for the past 5 days, and has not lost a single minute. The clock strikes as it should based on the Navy's 4 hour watch, and the bell sounds perfect. The clock measures approximately 17.5" H x 14.5" W x 5.5 D. Comes with a Chelsea Key. These older Chelsea Clocks in this condition are becoming more difficult to find, and in my opinion antique Chelsea Clocks are superior to the new ones because they are 100% made in the USA.

New Chelsea Clocks have movements made in Germany. The posted photographs are an important part of the physical condition.

Closely view all of them, so you may judge for yourself the condition, quality, and age of the clock. This is an expensive heavy antique clock.
