HERE IS A NICE OLD FIRE TRUCK ENGINE BELL MODEL 12 INCH WITH CAST BRASS MAKERS TAG. TAG SIGN READS' THE NEW DEPARTURE MFG. MECHANICALLY OPERATED VIA CAST IRON LEVER WITH GEAR MECHANISM SPINS THE CENTER RIM TO MAKE REPEATING GONG SOUND, BELL IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION WITH SLIGHT BENDS IN CENTER RIM AND WEAR TO PLATING, DIAMETER IS 12" HEAVY NICKEL BRASS BELL, CENTER RIM IS 12 1/2". THESE HARD TO FIND BELLS MOUNTED TO THE VERY EARLY FIRE TRUCKS AND POSSIBLY TO THE LATER MODEL STEAM PUMPERS, MUCH HARDER TO FIND THAN THE PLUNGER OPERATED BELLS.
