Barton (American, 1826/30 - 1895). Bell Size Approx: 1-3/8 in. To 3 1/2 inch Total Length Approx: 27 in.

Buckled You are viewing a set of sixteen (15) antique 19th C. Brass sleigh bells with a six touching petal design and attached to its original leather and brass strap by noted American bell maker:' William E. Each bell is signed/marked with a:' Running Horse and W. Initials as seen in photos.

Overall condition of bells are good, leather strap condition poor/fair. Some surface wear and tip of leather strap detached as shown, dirty/dusty from years of storage, needs cleaning/restoration.

(Edward) Barton was the son of Hiram Barton and grandson of William Barton. Barton manufactured sleigh bells at his father's East Hampton foundry until it was destroyed by fire in 1874. Relocated the business to a nearby foundry originally built by the Union Bell Company and resumed making bells.
