ANTIQUE Brass Horse Harness Sleigh Bells/Chimes for Hames Collar Carriage. This is a fabulous piece with a lot of history and nostalgia and yes it is rare. They are antique sleigh bells used around the turn of the 19th century. They were made with ice cream bells held in an arch containing 3,4,5 or 6 bells.. They were attached to the terrets on the back pad on a 6-horse hitch.

They're in great condition and they have been attached to a piece of wood for display/decoration. Weighing almost 3 lbs, it's 11" tall and 11 " long. On the center bell it's missing 1 terret and on one of the end bells it's missing 2 terrets. It definitely sounds like, what I assume, sleigh bells would sound like on a snowy winters day in the early 1900s.. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Decorative Collectibles\Bells".
