Up for offer is a hard to find and very desirable antique Harp Lamp in solid brass. This style of lamp was originally a design by Tiffany Studios and is one of the more sought after lamp styles for collectors and for those that simply love this very unique and special design. As a lamp, this form is ideal as a desk lamp or for a small hall table or foyer entrance. Made entirely of brass, the lamp retains all of its original features and has what I believe is a Bryant Socket that is integrated as part of the overall lamp. The socket articulates and being able to direct the light as needed is handy and is mainly why this makes for an idea desk lamp.
The socket has its original push, on-off switch. The lamp base has its own switch as well and both work well. The lamp base is heavily weighted and the lamp will stay put wherever you want to place it.The lamp shade is a stunning example of a signed Quezal, pulled feather, iridescence art glass shade. The shade is a harder to find Bell shape and the overall look of the shade itself is very organic, almost like a giant squash flower. The shade colours are incredible Vibrant and warm No damage to the shade illuminate or not, the shade is beautiful to look at and is a great example of why people love old art glass shades.
Overall, the condition of the lamp is excellent there is an old dent in the base (see image) that is really just a part of this lamps history and some might say adds character. The lamp itself is 15.25 inches tall (Base to top of socket housing). The harps widest is 9 inches wide as measured on the outside of the harp inner harp is 8.5 inches as measured on the harps widest spot.
The lamp base is 5.5 inches wide and the lamp weights a total of 6 Lbs. The lamp is wired with vintage style cord and has an old bakelite plug. The shade has a 2.25 fitter and is approximately 5.25 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the widest spot. AUSTRALIA, FRANCE, GERMANY, JAPAN, CHINA. 12 x 12 x 18.
