This is a lovely antique Brass Carriage Clock which strikes on a bell and is signed to the dial'HALL & CO KING STREET MANCHESTER'. This is a wonderful clock featuring a superb STRIKING 8 day timepiece movement set out in a solid brass case which has bevelled glass to all four sides and the top. To the top there is a lovely shaped handle which sets it off beautifully. The white dial is set out with Roman Numerals inside an outer ring using dashes to indicated the minute and five minute intervals. It is then finished with pretty hands. Although a little worn in places it is signed'HALL & CO KING STREET MANCHESTER'.

The brass frame is nicely detailed. The clock is in good working order.

The clock is wound and the hands are altered from the movement at the rear, as can be seen from the photographs and access to the movement is via the door to the rear. The clock is complete with its double ended key. The clock strikes the hours on the hour and also strikes once at half past. HALL & CO, MANCHESTER are listed in. WATCHMAKERS & CLOCKMAKERS OF THE WORLD VOLUME 2 by Brain Loomes' :'HALL John (& Co) Manchester. The clock is circa 1850. DIMENSIONS: The approximate dimensions of the clock are: - 17 cm high with handle up / 14 cm high with handle down - 9 cm across the front of the clock - 8.5 cm deep.

CONDITION: The clock case is in lovely condition just minor age marks commensurate with age. There are some chips to the bevelled glass on the top to the front, the right side (to the top corners) and back door glass.

To the top right and bottom left corners. The signature on the dial is a little faded. It is in good working order. The clock is complete with it's double ended key.
