Cast metal crotal sleigh bells. Vintage primitive rustic livestock equestrian temple chime set. This lot offers a primitive trio of three heavy cast bronze or brass alloy bells featuring an intensely weathered, aged patina. The group includes two spherical crotal-style bells (often referred to as sleigh or rumble bells) adorned with simple incised linear details around their midsections. The third and largest piece is a traditional open-mouth, flared-conical bell fitted with its original internal wire loops and cast metal clapper, as revealed on the underside in image_44.
Each bell is cast with a thick, integrated top loop (bail) for suspension. This rustic set features wonderful variations of dark brown oxidation and powdery green verdigris, ideal for collectors of early metalwork, equestrian hardware, or rustic decorative objects. Two Spherical Bells (each): 2 1/2" H (including bail) x 1 7/8" Diameter. One Conical Bell: 3" H (including bail) x 2 1/4" Diameter.
