The brass has been cleaned, polished and lacquered and looks great. The clock has 2 service stickers on it, the latest one is dated October 2011. The ships chimes ring up to 8 bells at the end of each 4 hour watch and starts again with 1 chime on the next half hour like all ships clocks. The chimes are very soft sounding but distinctive. The base with the clock and barometer mounted is 19 1/2" long by 9 1/2" tall by 3 1/4 wide and weighs over 13 pounds.The clock has a German movement in it and the barometer is marked Taylor Instruments made in USA. The base has one small scratch on the upper right hand corner as shown in the last picture. Please see all the pictures for more details.
