The metal base and case are forged from solid brass. The forged brass bezel opens with the original "shield" hinge, and latch design. The entire clock has a rich oil rubbed bronzed finish preserved with a clear lacquer coating. The 6 inch Grand Dial has applied raised bronze numbers, and filigree hands.
The serial number on the clock movement is 187667, and matches the serial number stamped on the bottom of the wood base. The wood base and back are made of solid mahogany. Clock has a Masonic presentation made of silver on the front of the clock which has been polished, and clear coated to prevent it from tarnishing.The clock was presented to a gentleman named Isadore Sabel by the members of the William B. Hackenburg Lodge 703, Dec 27, 1928. Sabel must have been a very important Free Mason to have been presented such an expensive clock.
