Antique/Vintage Brass 5-Bell Catholic Church Sanctuary Altar Bells. This is a wonderful Sanctus/Sanctuary/Altar Five (5) Cup Brass Church bells. This hand-held stand alone set of bells has four matching cup bells set up higher than the larger bell at the base with a loop at the top for ease in ringing. The primary reason for the use of these church bells is to create a joyful noise to the Lord. Such bells are also commonly referred to as: Mass bell, sacring bell, Sacryn bell, saints' bell, sance-bell or sanctus bell (or "bells", when there are two or more). These bells are in great condition with minor patina to the brass, has a great high ringing sound though one of the cup bells is missing its clapper. One cup bell has a small ding. The bell clappers match the finals on top of all four cup bells. It measures about 5" tall by 4 3/4" across and weighs 11.4 oz. Stamped on one of the crossbars is: "Made in Hong Kong". Inside of each bell is written "1896".
