Antique Gamewell Type Brass Telegraph Alarm Bell H Thau 1885 Fire Doctor Police. The brass bell is 6 across. The Bakelite round device is 3 5/8 across. The wood base is 5" x 11 3/4" and it weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces. The black Bakelite material crank device is marked H Thau Manuf'r - Pat'd May 12, 1885 - 128 Fulton St. It has markings on the top for Fire, Doctor, Special & Police. The base looks like walnut and the parts are mounted on a cast iron frame with original gold painted decoration.

I did not test it electrically but it appears quite fine with no damage noted - see my 12 detailed photos. The crank part seems to work nicely - when I turn the crank is slowly spins back into position. Extremely rare alarm bell for certain.
